The adoption of artificial intelligence in HR functions — from recruitment to career management — is also progressing within the Algerian economic fabric. While these tools promise productivity gains and better personalisation of the employee experience, they also raise crucial issues.
The main risks identified are algorithmic bias (reproduction of past discrimination through training data), a lack of transparency in automated HR decisions, and the question of compliance with the provisions of the Algerian Labour Code on non-discrimination.
For Algerian HRDs, the recommended approach is one of gradual and controlled adoption: auditing tools before deployment, maintaining human supervision over sensitive decisions, and involving staff representatives in the transition.
The INT offers specialised training programmes on HR digital transformation and supports companies in the ethical integration of these new technologies.
